Calgary has so many opportunities available to families, from attractions and outdoor fun to sports and the arts. With the huge depth of talent and opportunity in this city, it’s easy to find musical performances that are accessible to the whole family. The Calgary Civic Symphony has delighted audiences in Calgary for decades with its highly-polished orchestral performances.

On June 15, 2023, Calgary Civic Symphony and New Blood Productions present ‘New Blood,’ the Blackfoot tradition and the music of Peter Gabriel combined in the true story of a residential school survivor.

The show’s net proceeds will be donated to Indigenous registered charities in their work with residential school survivors.

The Calgary Civic Symphony was founded in 1975 as Calgary’s volunteer orchestra. Over the years, the Civic has swelled to over 80 musicians. With an interesting diversity in professions, its members come together each week to rehearse complex orchestral works. Under the baton of Artistic Director and Conductor Rolf Bertsch, the Symphony shapes and polishes performances that are truly brilliant!
