Spend the weekend before Halloween with the haunted spirits of the past! Heritage Park’s Ghouls’ Night Out is one of the city’s most beloved Halloween traditions and this year it’s happening over four days, including one with an earlier start and end time, perfect for families with early bedtimes.
During Ghouls’ Night Out (October 26 – 29), Heritage Park will be transformed into a ghost town, full of activities to get ghouls big and small into the Halloween spirit. You’ll find enough freaky family fun to please everyone. This is a wonderful, safe night out for families with younger children, and a fun reason for the whole family to get dressed up!
Visitors can take a spooky stroll down the park’s well-decorated streets, meet the ghoulish residents of the village’s haunted houses, and attend the Witches Flying School. Stop by for a freaky feast and decorate a “Ginger-dead Man” cookie, drop in for storytelling and crafts with wizards and witches, do the Mash – the Monster Mash at the family dance, and travel down the rabbit hole for a wonderfully weird tea party with Alice and her friends. Don’t miss the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration as the Canmore Opera House is transformed into a Mexican village. Be sure to keep your eyes open for spooky dance mobs, scarecrows and their pumpkin patches, Carnivale games of chance, and other surprises that could pop up anywhere!
Ghouls’ Night Out takes place outdoors for the most part, so be sure to dress for the weather with warm layers, mittens, hats, and gloves (as well as your Halloween costume, of course!). Wear comfortable footwear and feel free to bring a stroller or wagon to help little ones get around. Don’t forget your camera to capture memories of your little ghouls, as well as your flashlight to help you find your way once it gets dark! Heritage Park has more tips & tricks online to help you make the most of this fun event.
This special event is best suited to kids aged 3 to 9 and their parents. Tickets are only $10.95 for Old Spirits (anyone aged 13+) and $6.95 for Little Ghouls (aged 3 to 12). Children 2 and under get in free. Parking is $5/day before 5 pm, $3 after 5 pm.
Tickets will not be available at the gate if a session is sold out – and this frequently happens – so we recommend purchasing yours online now! Then start planning your costume and counting down to a ghostly good time!
