Positive Discipline Conference

Being a parent is a big job, not just the daily feeding and watering of your babies but there is also the responsibility of teaching your children right from wrong, helping them make good decisions and molding them into the confident and competent adults you hope they will one day become.

Dr. Jane Nelson and Cheryl Erwin, two of the foremost experts on Positive Discipline will be in on Calgary April 27 & 28th to help equip parents, teachers and caregivers with tools to develop a foundation of kindness and firmness in their discipline. Positive Discipline is program that provides adults with non-punitive methods that encourage children and help them develop important life skills. Conference attendees can expect to learn how apply Positive Discipline methods to their particular challenges with their own children or the children they work with.

About the speakers:

Dr. Jane Nelsen:
Jane is one of North America’s leading and most respected voices on the subject of child discipline. She is an educator, psychologist, counselor and author of the best selling Positive Discipline books. Jane’s Positive Discipline model has been used by parents, teachers and caregivers to successfully transform adult/child relationships throughout the world.

Cheryl Erwin:
Cheryl is a licensed marriage and family therapist, mental health consultant and family coach for the University of Nevada and Reno’s Early Head Start Program. She is the author or co-author of nine parenting books including seven of the Positive Discipline books.

Ruth Buffam
Ruth Buffam
Ruth is the conference organizer and a Certified Positive Discipline Educator and Trainer. Her educational background is in early childhood, educational psychology and counseling. Ruth spent over 20 years as a teacher, including special education and raised three sons. Ruth now dedicates the majority of her work life to educating parents, childcare providers & teachers in Canada (and beyond) about Positive Discipline.
