The long held dream of a Canadian Museum for Human Rights has finally come to fruition. The noted architectural jewel in Winnipeg is throwing open its elegant doors for its opening weekend on September 20th and 21st to welcome one and all, free of charge.

Registration began September 3rd for the close to 10,000 tours available. In order to facilitate the smoothest visit for the most people, each visit will consist of a guided tour of four thought-provoking and evocative galleries. With 11 total galleries spread over an impressive 260 000 square feet, a comprehensive tour would take days!

Coinciding with the opening of the CMHR is RightsFest, which will feature performances on outdoor stages from a wide variety of genres: from skateboarding to performances by the prestigious Royal Winnipeg Ballet!

If you are going to be in Winnipeg, take the opportunity to be part of this event. Details about the museum and opening weekend events, including how to register for tickets can be found on their website at humanrights.ca
