This summer, you can help your children grow in their bike riding skills and ability with the help of Pedalheads Summer Camps. Pedalheads is best known for helping children get off training wheels and safely ride on the road by way of small class sizes, specialized equipment, and some of the most highly-trained instructors in the business. Since 1995, they have helped over 600,000 kids ages 2-12 get active through their renowned bike camps in Canada and the US.
Pedalheads® Bike Camps
Make this summer an unforgettable one for your child with a week at Pedalheads Bike Camp. From the littlest campers (age 2) to the big kids (up to age 12), there’s a camp for every bike skill level. Riding Rookies (ages 1-3) can take part in parented camps that introduce them to bike riding with balance bikes, tricycles, or bikes with training wheels. Little ones will learn basic bicycle safety, how to steer, turn, and stop, and have fun with games like navigating a “racecourse”!
The Level 1 Newbees camp — for ages 4 and up — is the most popular camp in the Pedalheads program. This is the camp where many kids learn to ride their two-wheel bikes without training wheels. Pedalheads has a proven track record of getting most young riders from training wheels to fearless independence within a week! Maximum riding. Maximum progress.
Once your child knows how to ride a two-wheel bike, there is a whole line-up of camp options for them to choose from. Advance levels cover bike safety, how to use gear shifts, bike maintenance, and an introduction to trail-riding skills. These advance levels even help your child work on bicycling endurance so they can go on longer rides. Think about all those long family bike rides you can take together this summer through our beautiful trails systems and even into the mountains!
Pedalhead Camps are conveniently offered in dozens of locations across Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and St.Albert. Choose between morning afternoon, or evening camps, including the option to add before and after-camp care to further accommodate your busy schedule. In select locations, Pedalheads also offers full-day camps and private lesson options to better meet and support kids where they are at.
Pedalheads® Trail Riding Camps
For kiddos looking to ride their bike on great adventures, Pedalheads Trail Riding Camps are a great option! As with the Pedalheads Bike programs, these camps are offered in a range of levels. Kids as young as 4 can participate in Trail Riding Camps as long as they are able to independently ride a two-wheel bike with no training wheels.
As they explore local bike trails, kids will learn trail etiquette and build their stamina for riding. In the beginner Trail Riding levels, kids will explore riding on different surfaces including urban terrain and dirt terrain. In the upper levels, kids will learn more advanced trail-riding maneuvers and learn how to tackle obstacles on tougher trails. Of course, all of this instruction happens with an emphasis on putting safety first.
