It’s the City of Edmonton’s most tree-rific event of the year! On Saturday, June 1, 2019 join the fun at the Root for Trees Fest! Be at Goldbar Park for between 10 am and 2 pm for games, educational displays, crafts, and tree giveaways. Everyone is invited to get in on the planting action to help fulfill the goal of planting 1,000 trees, shrubs and wildflowers. Kids 12 and under can even register for the Tree-athlon! Kids 8-12 can register for a 1 km race, while kids 7 and under can do a 0.5 km race. Racers will run, plant a tree and water a tree before crossing the finish line and receiving their medal. (Race registrations will be capped at 50 per age group.)
