The public is invited to take in the beautiful views of the sky at the University of Alberta Observatory. Throughout the year, solar observing is offered every Thursday afternoon from 12 pm to 1 pm. During the U of A school year, visitors can drop in on Thursday evening (times vary, see website for details) to get an amazing view of the night sky through the powerful telescopes. It’s FREE to visit! This activity is best suited for older kids. (Not recommended for those under 7) The telescopes are in an unheated dome, so make sure to bundle up on cold days!
