Do you love staying on top of all of the great family events going on each week in Halifax? Family Fun Canada Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic, organized and word-savvy person to help us keep our readers informed and engaged when it comes to all of the family-friendly goings-on that the Halifax region has to offer.

What does a City Editor do? Tasks are mainly sourcing information on events and activities around Halifax, creating event posts, updating the events calendar and posting to social media. The fun part comes in sharing your adventures with your kids while out and about! We’re looking for an individual who wants to work from home on a flexible, part-time basis (15 hours per week) and be part of the Family Fun team.

Familiarity with the various family-friendly venues, museums, festivals and major attractions in the region is helpful, but successful candidates will have a passion for social media, strong writing skills, and excellent organizational and computer skills. Experience with the WordPress platform is preferred. You set your own schedule, as long as all deadlines are met and communication is strong.

Are you up for helping to bring more family fun to the city you love? Email us at info@familyfuncanada.com to send along a cover letter, resume, and two samples so we can assess your writing and social media style. Please note that we’re only able to respond to candidates that we wish to interview*.

Samples:

1. One of your reels or TiKTs about a family-friendly location, event or activity

2. A 100-word sample event listing for the following:
