Playlists for family road trips

If there’s one thing our family loves, it’s a good road trip.

Correction: If there’s one thing my husband and I love, it’s a good road trip. The kids are still pretty young and “tolerate” is probably a better word for them.

We’ve been hitting the road since long before we became parents (and love to explore vacation spots like Hawaii with smaller road trips) but besides a vehicle and snacks to keep the hangry attitudes at bay, the most crucial component of any great road trip is good music to cruise to. Without a great playlist of classic road trip music, the miles seem to go by way slower! We’ve come up with a few playlists for your listening pleasure: one created by my husband, one by myself and a combined effort of songs our kids love that don’t make us want to drive off the road.

While there is some overlap of music we both enjoy on each of our personal lists (including one of the same songs), this definitely became a bit of a battle of the sexes as there’s music my mister wouldn’t be caught dead voluntarily listening to (Taylor Swift anyone?).

My husband had this to say: “My playlist is very diverse.I have a strong appreciation for classic rock thanks to my parents but also discovered dance and electronica in the 90s, so I can go from The Beatles to Daft Punk pretty easily.”

Check them out our His, Hers & Their’s playlists below! And be sure to tell us which you’d be more likely to listen to on your own journey!
