Family First Night at Mt SeymourI sure hope some of you can relate and that I’m not the most pathetic parent out there. I’ve rarely seen midnight on New Year’s Eve since the birth of my kids (11 years ago). The idea of staying up until midnight only to be woken up by over-energetic kids at some unholy hour on January 1st holds less than zero appeal to me. But my kids are getting older now and they want to take part in welcoming the new year. But still, midnight just isn’t going to happen for this momma who needs a solid 8 hours to maintain a semi-civil disposition. I tip my hat to the brilliant organizers of Mt Seymour’s Family First Night!

Family First Night at Mt Seymour is the original and longest-running family-friendly New Year’s Eve event on the North Shore. The night’s entertainment line up is packed: laser tobogganing, Acro Fire Entertainment, live music, Tickles & Yowza the Clowns, face-painting, arts, crafts, and more.

If you are worried about keeping the ankle-biters fed, don’t! There will be food vendors on site from which you can purchase both savoury & sweet treats.

As for other family-fun activities, we are sure the kids will like: a family Snowquest, a self-guided snowshoe trek along lantern lit trails and cuddling together around the Mt Seymour fire pits.

And now the part that excites me the most…New Year’s is celebrated at 8:25pm! With an early countdown, dazzling fireworks & fun party favours, everyone will experience a true New Year’s Eve celebration all while being able to get the kids tucked into bed at a relatively civilized hour. Now how’s that for a parenting-win?!

Tickets for this family-fun event are available for purchase ONLINE ONLY. The prices are incredibly reasonable for an evening packed with so much family fun! As you can imagine an impressive event such as this sells out, so get your tickets ASAP.

We wish everyone the very best for 2020! We look forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve with you at Mt Seymour’s Family First Night.
