In cities all across Metro Vancouver, outdoor summer concert series are offering up free (or nearly free) live performances throughout the summer. Mark your calendar, plan a picnic, and soak up the evening sun while listening to beautiful music.

VSO at Deer Lake Park – I think the whole city waits in anticipation for this yearly event. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra returns to Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park on July 9th for a FREE performance.
Music in the Park
Bring a picnic and enjoy live music, art demonstrations, children’s activities and a nature-inspired art gallery set against the stunning backdrop of the North Shore mountains and Capilano Reservoir. This is a FREE drop-in event for all ages. Please leave pets at home. Please note parking is very limited.

Surrey Sounds of Summer Concert Series – Wednesdays from June 28 – August 30th, the City of Surrey hosts FREE outdoor concerts at various parks around the city. The music style & performers is different for every show. Arrive early, explore the park, bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the music. Please note that most venues don’t permit pets.
The Corporation of Delta is hosting a large number of FREE musical concerts at various parks throughout the summer.
When: July 5, 6, 19, 20, 26 & August 2, 7, 10, 17, 23 & 24, 2016
Time: most start times are either 7pm or 7:30pm but there are a few noon start times too

Enjoy the energetic vibe of McBurney Plaza while listening to live music. On Wednesdays throughout July, performers from various genres will entertain the crowd.

The beloved Music on the Wharf concert series happens 4 times throughout the summer. Admission is by donation and the proceeds benefit the Maple Ridge Historic Society.

There are 2 options for free concerts in New Westminster. Both series are entitled Music By the River but the concerts run on different days, at different times, and in different locations. However, there is nothing to complain about when you get to enjoy FREE music with a beautiful view.

Every Sunday throughout the summer, live music fills the air around Rocky Point Park with the Summer Sunday Concerts. Enjoy performances by: Mostly Marley, Russell Marsland & The Chosen Few, Billy Dixon’s Soul Train Express, John Delaney & The Indestructibles, R&B Allstars, Incognito, Jim Byrnes & The Sojourners, and Brickhouse. Be sure to mark your calendars for the Port Moody Rotary Ribfest (July 22 – 24) where you will be able to enjoy 16 bands performing more than 20 hours of live music…all for FREE!
