Richmond Nature Park

The Richmond Nature Park consists of 200 acres of the raised peat bog habitat that once covered large portions of Lulu Island. Four walking trails totalling 5km provide visitors the chance to encounter plants and animals in bog, forest and pond habitats. Throughout the year the Richmond Nature Park hosts numerous family-friendly events. Admission to many of the events is by donation.

Gnome Sweet Home:

Explore the whimsical world of Gnomes and their secret forest homes in this fun family event.

Gem and Mineral Show:

The Richmond Gem and Mineral Society present a display of gems and minerals; demos and interactive games. All ages. Admission by donation.

Fossil Show:

Learn about BC’s fascinating prehistoric past with real fossils displayed by the Vancouver Paleontological Society. Make fossil casts and fossil rubbings too! All ages. Admission by donation.

Cranberry Sale:

Stock up on fresh cranberries at the Richmond Nature Park Society’s annual cranberry sale. Proceeds support educational and public programs in the park.

Once Upon a Pumpkin:

Come explore the Nature House and learn about Halloween’s origins in nature. All ages. Free activity!

Wild Things:

Once a year mischievous racoons, a friendly bear, chatty crows and their forest friends emerge from the bog to greet visitors as they walk along a trail lined with candlelit pumpkins. Join us for some spooky fun, storytelling, and pumpkin carnival games at this Halloween-inspired event. All ages. Admission for this event is free for those two years and younger, $3/child (3-12 years) and $5/adult (13+ years). Proceeds support educational and public programs in the park. An adult must accompany children. Flashlights and costumes are optional. Rain or shine; dress for the weather. Please note there is NO onsite parking. Park at Cambie School and ride on the Pumpkin Express to the Nature Park.

Mushroom Show:

Discover the fungus among us as the Vancouver Mycological Society presents a show of local autumn fungi. Bring mystery mushrooms for identification. All ages. Admission by donation.

Drop-in for a tour of the park’s wildlife garden and learn how to make a bird’s garden habitat with responsible feeding practices. All ages. Admission by donation.
