The back-to-school season brings reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic, but it’s more than just hitting the books! Embracing the opportunity to try new things and learning the value of falling down and getting back up again is an important back-to-school lesson, too, and Alien In-Line has fall programs to help kids be physically literate. Their programs offer a chance to move and master new skills, bringing kids a fun activity that promotes physical and mental health.
What is Alien In-Line? Glad you asked! It’s an inline skating program that teaches everything from the basics, including how to fall and get up, to cool tricks kids can master at their level. Of course, as kids learn inline skating, they are also learning basic skating skills that transfer to all types of skating sports, plus athletic skills for any sport. It’s loads of fun, marked with personal achievement and a chance to build confidence!
Throughout all their programs, Alien In-Line prioritizes safety. That means providing the correct safety equipment, disinfecting the equipment between each user, and learning the right skills at the right times. Upcoming sessions will take place at the Montgomery Community Association.
If your child is new to the world of skating, check out Alien’s Learn to Skate programs, for ages 6 – 12. No previous experience is required and kids can get started with a six-week class to get them hooked. Kids will be introduced to the basics, from falling and getting up to balancing on one foot, stopping, and skating backwards. Skills are taught by professional, certified instructors through the “FUNdamentals” of skating, using exciting drills and games. This program prepares kids for a variety of skating sports and gets them ready for more challenging inline programs, like the Alien Skate Club.
The Alien Skate Club is for kids ages 8 – 13 who have basic skating skills and want to get better. They use a Skate Ninja Program to teach fundamental skills as part of a healthy and happy lifestyle. Several disciplines are explored, such as freestyle, hockey, artistic, urban, and more. The skating proficiency acquired will provide a foundation for other skating sports and activities. Learning how to take calculated risks, bounce back from failure, and work with teammates provides a strong base for all of life.
Register today with Alien In-Line to ensure a spot in your preferred program. Get rolling to add some fun to your child’s fall as they enjoy the benefits of staying active and engaged.
