Are you wondering how to keep the little ones busy on Halloween day? Do the kids need a distraction while they wait for trick-or-treating? This Halloween, head to Calgary Public Library for the Mayor’s Halloween Storytime — a frightfully good time! From ghost stories to fairy tales, Halloween is made to curl up with a good book. Plus, it’s always nice for Mom and Dad to let someone else read the story.

On October 31, 2022, visit Central Library in the afternoon and join special guest, Mayor Jyoti Gondek, for a Halloween storytime. The event will take place in the Shaikh Family Welcome Gallery at 1:00 pm, to get everyone in the spirit to go trick-or-treating that evening. The whole family will enjoy stories and rhymes, led by Calgary’s mayor.

If you’re at Central Library for storytime, you’ll find all kinds of other things to do while you wait for trick-or-treating. Find some new picture books to borrow, spend some time with a game or puzzle, or let the kids burn their energy in the Early Learning Centre. Mom and Dad can stop by Luke’s Cafe to recharge with a caffeinated drink, too. It’s the perfect way to spend the afternoon!

Let your little ones dress up, and embrace the friendly, frightful Halloween fun at Calgary Public Library this year. It’s sure to be a goo-oo-ood time!
