Spend the Evening with the Calgary Youth Orchestra and the Kolsimcha Quintet

Calgary Youth Orchestra (Family Fun Calgary)

The Calgary Youth Orchestra (CYO) is the flagship orchestra in Mount Royal Conservatory’s Orchestral Program. Internationally recognized as one of Canada’s leading youth orchestras, the CYO provides solid training in orchestral playing with professional coaching from some of the best local, national and international clinicians and conductors.

On March 3, 2019, you can spend an evening with the Calgary Youth Orchestra and the Kolsimcha Quintet. Since their formation in 1986, Kolsimcha has created a groundbreaking mix of thrilling jazz improvisations, dazzling symphonic sounds, and exotic Mediterranean melodies alternating with poignant ballads and sensuous Eastern European rhythms.

As Wyatt Series Artists-in-residence, the quintet will be mentoring the Conservatory students and performing with the Calgary Youth Orchestra under the direction of Edmond Agopian.
