There’s an adventure to find this summer and you’ll discover it at the heart of the city! Fort Calgary summer camps will feed your child’s curiosity and creativity with arts, science, and nature. With four camps to choose from, kids can plants and animals, unleash their artistic inspirations, lose themselves in writing and drama projects, or dig deep into archaeology and architecture. This summer is a time to explore!

Fort Calgary is located on 40 acres of natural land beside the Bow and Elbow rivers where many significant archaeological finds have been made. With significant history as a gathering place for Indigenous peoples for time immemorial, and as the site where the North West Mounted Police established Fort Calgary in 1875, Fort Calgary was declared a national historic site in 1925. Today, Fort Calgary is a place to gather, learn and reflect.

Summer camps at Fort Calgary offer a rich experience for kids aged 6 – 11 years. All campers will go behind the scenes at the museum and meet with community experts, scientists, artists and storytellers to connect with nature and explore stories from our city’s past and present. Camps include a mix of indoor and outdoor activities and excursions to nearby urban destinations like St. Patrick’s Island and the Central Library, plus Studio Bell or the Calgary Zoo. Camps run from 9 am – 4 pm, and complimentary care begins as early as 8 am and runs until 5 pm. Parents also have the option to purchase lunches.
