Add Some Pep to Your Step at Heritage Park with Spring Break Fun!

The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer, and we’re looking forward to a fabulous spring! Heritage Park invites you to ‘Spring Into Fun’ while the kids are out of school this spring break, with a variety of activities that are sure to please everyone in the family.

The Heritage Park Historical Village may not be open yet, but Heritage Park is open all year round so families can visit the Gasoline Alley Museum, enjoy a special event, or stop for a coffee and a sweet treat at the Railway Café. With the arrival of spring, there are even more ways families can learn and play together!

From engaging speakers and interactive programming to carriage rides and hands-on activities, Heritage Park will bring the energy to your spring break! How many activities will your family fit in?

Gasoline Alley Museum: From March 22 – 30, 2025, kids will find some extra-special fun in Gasoline Alley Museum! Here’s what you can expect.

Get Crafty: Make a spring flowers paper craft. This activity is best for families with 3-9 year olds.
Flower Power Scavenger Hunt: Can you find the flowers hidden inside Gasoline Alley? All ages will enjoy a scavenger hunt, plus learn a few facts about the museum on the way!
Beading in the Bison Exhibit: Join a beading circle in the Bison Exhibit with an Indigenous interpreter! If you don’t have a project of your own to bring in, you can try some beadwork samples. This activity is best for ages 12 and up, due to the necessary hand/eye coordination.
Got ‘Spring’ in your step?: Try some 1950’s skipping rope rhymes and or challenge a friend to a slinky race!
Fly into Spring: The birds are flying back to Calgary this spring. Can you match pictures of local birds with their calls? Push a button and hear the snippets of bird song.

Visit ‘Bison’: Discover the giants of the plains and step into the world of the bison with this travelling exhibit at Heritage Park. You can visit any day during spring break for hands-on learning and interactive activities. You’ll find guest programming on March 23, 2025, and a storytelling session on March 29, 2025, at 1 PM.

Carriage Rides: There’s nothing like enjoying the spring weather … out in the spring weather! Book a Carriage Ride for your family while you’re visiting Gasoline Alley Museum on March 22 or 29, 2025. Rides are weather-dependent.
