Ever wondered what goes on inside the Calgary Courts Centre? Law Day gives you the chance to find out!

In lieu of the regular Law Day events that would normally be taking place in the Calgary and Edmonton courts on April 17, 2020, organizers have opted for a virtual format of the event to allow the celebration to continue during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning at noon on April 17, 2020, interested participants are asked to join the one hour Law Day Virtual Career Day’s Facebook Live video, hosted through the Law Day Alberta Facebook page to discuss career paths for students and adults interested in a career as a lawyer.

The Facebook Live will feature a diverse panel of lawyers and articling students who practice with the government, in private practice, and as sole practitioners, as well as those in various stages of their careers. Participants will be able to ask the panel about their experiences applying for and attending law school, completing their articling year, becoming accredited to practice in Canada after completing law school abroad, and practicing law in a variety of settings.

Panel Members:
Moderator – Marc Yu (Partner, Field LLP, Edmonton)
Iain Campbell (Sole Practitioner, Campbell Collaborative Law, Calgary)
Christopher Ghesquiere (Barrister & Solicitor, Alberta Justice & Solicitor General, Calgary)
Storme Mckop (Articling Student, Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, Calgary)
Evie Thorne (Associate, Field LLP, Edmonton)
