Combining the athletics of moving your body and the creativity of moving to music, rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that will challenge you and fill your soul! Are your kids looking for something unique, lively, and entertaining to fill their extracurricular hours this fall? NorGlen Rhythmic Gymnastics Club has fall lessons that will introduce them to a fascinating sport, where you perform gymnastics to music, using a variety of apparatus, such as ribbons, balls, ropes, clubs, and hoops. Kids will improve their flexibility, increase their coordination, and build their physical literacy. Most importantly, they’ll have fun!

Rhythmic gymnastics evolved primarily during the 1950s. NorGlen Rhythmic Gymnastics Club is a non-profit organization that has been providing recreational rhythmic gymnastic classes to children and adults of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and skill levels in south Calgary since 1979. Classes start at age 4 and even adults can join the fun!

Find the Right Class

Beginners: The Beginner Class has a recommended age of age 4 to grade one. Children will gain an introduction to the various apparatus used in rhythmic gymnastics while continuing to develop foundational movement and rhythmic gymnastics skills. The emphasis is on fun, learning new skills, and working on coordination and flexibility. The gymnasts will incorporate dance and apparatus skills into a group routine that they will have the opportunity to perform in the Winter and Spring Shows.

Intermediate: No experience is necessary for the Intermediate Class, with a recommended age of grade 2 to 3. This class will focus on progressing the gymnasts’ skill level and technique while improving flexibility and having fun. This group will also have the opportunity to perform in the Winter and Spring Shows and potentially at other events within the province.

Performing groups: All performing groups are open to new gymnasts at the coach’s discretion, and previous dance or gymnastics experience is not necessary. All of the performing groups work toward improving flexibility and technical skill in a non-competitive environment. These groups perform in the Winter and Spring Shows, the Provincial Gymnastraeda, and at various other events throughout the year, and start around grade 4. Depending on the age of your child, they will join the Jeunesse, Junior, Senior, or Masters Performing Team.
