They don\u2019t make things like they used to – unless you are talking about Pie Junkie Bakery and Cafe’s\u00a0sweet and savoury pies.<\/p>\n

Using family recipes spanning four generations and pairing her British father\u2019s pastry skills and Italian mother\u2019s culinary genius, Nancy, the owner, launched Pie Junkie to share her family\u2019s fabulous pies. September 2025 saw Pie Junkie’s fifth Calgary location open in West District.<\/p>\n

\u201cTen years ago, we set out to make pies the way they\u2019re supposed to be made \u2013 by hand, with care, and with ingredients we\u2019re proud of,\u201d says Nancy Goemans, co-owner of Pie Junkie. \u201cWhat started as a neighbourhood pie shop has grown into a citywide community of pie lovers who have been with us every step of the way. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary and open our fifth Calgary location, we\u2019re reminded that pies aren\u2019t just about pastry and filling; they\u2019re about bringing people together. It has been a privilege to become part of people\u2019s lives and traditions as we\u2019ve celebrated a decade\u2019s worth of Mother\u2019s Days, Thanksgivings, Christmases, New Year’s Eves, Pi Days, and so much more.\u201d<\/p>\n
