I am not a scrapbooker.<\/p>\n

I have friends who have gorgeous scrapbooks full of pictures of their wedding, their vacations and their kids. I find the\u00a0 whole concept of finding matching papers, punches and cut-outs totally overwhelming; there are just too many options. A few years ago I made a scrapbook-style birthday card.\u00a0 My type A, perfectionist, anal-retentive tendencies created a card that was stunningly gorgeous, but cost me over $30.00 in materials and took more than two hours to complete. So you can imagine why I find the task of scrapbooking all my children’s memories daunting.<\/p>\n

I know that I could always print out all the photos I like but I am certain they will just end up in boxes because my type A, perfectionist, anal-retentive tendencies dictate that all the albums will have to be the same size, shape and colour. And of course I will feel the need to document the entire lives of my children and their children. I am not sure what the chances are of being able to find identical photo albums from the same manufacturer stretched over a 50 year period. So I do nothing.<\/p>\n

What about digital scrapbooking? The options are endless with borders, digital stamps, masks and layering. Again, slightly overwhelming. I like the digital photo albums that are simple, with only the photo and maybe a caption or two. Creating these is on my fairy tale to-do list but I am not kidding myself thinking this will happen any time soon.<\/p>\n

In the meantime,\u00a0I have files upon files of digital images saved on my computer, backed up on an external hard drive and burned to disks. I have one of those digital photo frames which we update every once in awhile and will sit on our couch to enjoy our memories as they flit across the screen.<\/p>\n

Regardless of how those photos will ultimately get cropped, edited, admired and enjoyed the most important thing for now is how those photos get taken!<\/p>\n
