Long summer days filled with sunshine, laughter, adventure, and evenings spent singing by the campfire under the stars. That’s the unforgettable magic of summer camp – and at Camp He Ho Ha, everyone is welcome to join the fun!
Located just an hour west of Edmonton on the beautiful shores of Lake Isle, Camp Health Hope and Happiness has been offering barrier-free, inclusive summer camp experiences since 1960. Designed for individuals ages 6 to 106 with any type of neurodiverse, developmental, or physical challenges, this incredible camp is a safe, encouraging, and non-judgmental space where campers can truly be their amazing selves.
Summer Camp at He Ho Ha is 5 days and 4 nights of non-stop fun, adventure, and connection. Campers will stay in cozy cabins with a 3:1 camper-to-counselor ratio to ensure personalized support and care. Each week is tailored to specific groups, including children and teens, young adults, adults, and seniors, and grouped further by physical or developmental needs.
Campers are encouraged to build confidence by trying new things just outside their comfort zone in a safe, supportive environment. Whether it’s their first time ziplining or their fifth round of mini-golf, every moment is packed with fun and discovery!
Some of the amazing activities at Camp He Ho Ha include:
- A climbing wall and indoor swimming pool
- Barge rides on Lake Isle
- Arts & crafts and performing arts
- Archery, fishing, canoes & pedal boats
- 18-hole mini golf course
- Skit nights, campfires, and dances
- Wheelchair-accessible ropes course & overnight tenting adventures
Another highlight is mealtime! With a Journeyman Chef and baker onsite, every meal is delicious, nutritious, and completely customizable to meet any dietary needs, allergies, or restrictions.
For those with medical needs, you can rest assured that the 24-hour Health Centre always has two qualified nurses on call to administer medications, monitor health, and consult with doctors when needed.
