Fort Edmonton Park is offering pop-up day camps for kids ages 6 – 12 who are affected by the school closures. It’s fun, hands-on history for the kids and peace of mind for the parents, with reliable, engaging out-of-school care.

Fort Edmonton Park Day Camps

Is your young time traveller ready?! The Fort Edmonton Park day camps are a blast from the past as kids travel through Edmonton’s history. From fur trading to flappers, kids will explore games, crafts, and stories across four eras of history. It’s a meaningful way for kids to spend their time while not in school — they’ll be off screens and engaged, learning, playing, and connecting.

These day camps are divided into two age groups, Junior (ages 6 – 9) and Senior (ages 10 – 12). Limited spots will be released weekly, and they are currently booking for October 6 – 10, 2025. If the camp fills up, you can join the waitlist to be notified as spaces become available. Proceeds from these camps will support future educational programs and field trips once regular programming resumes.

The Alberta Teachers’ Strike will be a challenging time for many people, but you can turn it into a unique opportunity for your kids. They’ll make memories, be creative, and get connected with people, past and present. Register today!

If you haven’t already, be sure to register here for parent support from the Alberta government. If you have a child aged 12 and under who attends a public, separate, or francophone school affected by the disruption, you are eligible to receive $30 per child per school day of the labour action.
