Grindstone Theatre Spring Break Camps

Spring Break offers the perfect opportunity to GET SCHOOLED! Feed into your child’s flair for the dramatic with a selection of three great Spring Break camps led by fun-loving theatre professionals at Grindstone Theatre.

Grindstone Theatre is a not-for-profit Edmonton-based theatre company founded in 2011. The Grindstone Comedy Theatre & Bistro opened in 2018 and is home to independently-produced improv, stand-up, sketch comedy, and musical theatre troupes.

Grindstone Theatre School is proud to offer a wide selection of drama programs for all ages and skill levels, year-round. No previous experience is necessary to enroll in Spring Break Camp, making it easy for your 8 to 17-year-old to experience something new without a lengthy commitment. Each weeklong camp aims to be a fun and positive experience, where your child can gain new confidence and friends along the way. At the end of the week, all campers will even have a chance to share their newfound skills in a showcase performance for family and friends.

Drama Discovery 2 Spring Camp Ages 8-12

Dates: March 27-31 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Cost: Early Bird $250 | Lazy Bird $300

This camp offers the perfect stage for aspiring performers and class clowns. Abby Vandenberghe will bring her signature mix of fun and goofy energy to encourage young campers find their voice, learn how to move, and feel comfortable performing in front of others. Campers will work as a team throughout the week to create and tell their very own story, all while hopefully developing a love for drama!

Drama Discovery 3 Spring Camp Ages 12-15

Dates: March 27-31 | 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Cost: Early Bird $350 | Lazy Bird $400

Aspiring writers and performers will have a blast working together during this creative camp! Instructor Alexandria Fortier will bring her impressive wealth of writing knowledge and acting experience to inspire and lead the charge. Campers will learn about different ways of playwriting, directing, and performance, and then work together as an ensemble to write and perform their own original show.

Teen Improv Spring Camp Ages 13-17

Dates: March 27-31 | 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Cost: Early Bird $550 | Lazy Bird $600

Experience 5 straight days of laughs during Teen Improv Camp! Improv extraordinaire Joey Lucius will lead campers through the fundamentals of improv: saying yes to ideas; trusting our impulse; and embracing failure. By the end of the week participants will have all the tools they need to put on a comedic show that is totally made up on the spot out of suggestions from the audience.
