Kids, don’t try this at home… Try it at the TELUS World of Science Edmonton!
Does toast ALWAYS fall butter side down? Exactly how long can you hang from a window ledge?? Can you pull the tablecloth out from under a fully set table without breaking a dish??? Don’t let your floors and your fine china fall victim any more – head to the TELUS World of Science Edmonton for MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition to find answers to these burning questions and more!
Fans of Discovery Channel’s Emmy®-nominated series will love this exhibit. There’s plenty of MythBusters’ paraphernalia, including TV clips and remnants from actual experiments conducted on the show. Kids of all ages will love it too – there’s nothing but cool stuff to play with every time you turn around, and almost all of it is stuff Mom would NEVER let you do at home!
My kids couldn’t get enough of the buttered toast test. We had stacks of the “bread” lined up and ran multiple tests at each of the four dropping stations.
My husband and I each gave the tablecloth pull a try, and managed to keep most of the settings intact. Things got a little messier when the girls tried. Thank goodness for plastic plates!
The Big Bad Wolf display alone could keep kids occupied for the day. Our two were quite contest to stack and re-stack various combinations of the three brick options available and pop their “houses” into the wind tunnel to see if they could withstand a huffing and a puffing. (Spoiler alert – most of them did not!)
The ledge hang was a top draw for all of us. My four-year-old daughter surprised us all with how long she hung on! Only daddy could beat her.
That’s just the start of the myths you can bust. Can a swing suspended by phone books hold your weight? Can you change in a phone booth as fast as Superman? How well can you drive “blind” while someone else gives you directions? Only you can answer those questions when you visit this fun and interactive display.
