The best chefs in the city team with media partners in a spicy and delicious Chili Cookoff to kick off Rodeo Week. Grab a sample for $1 or a bowl for $2 and vote for your favourite. Plus you can rub shoulder with “rodeo royalty” aand meet rodeo queens, or even show off your line dancing skills! Nov 3, 11:30 am-1:30 pm, 104 Street, between Jasper Avenue and 102 Avenue
There will be a Rodeo Kids Korral set up in Old Strathcona, with barrel racing, wagon rides, a petting zoo and a pancake breakfast! Nov 4, 11 am-3 pm, Wilbert McIntyre Park
Watch the horsemanship competition of the Miss Rodeo Canada pageant. Contestants are tested on patterns, a flag ride and a presentation lap. Tickets are $10 (available at the the door) Nov 8, 2017, 10 am-12:30 pm, Hall D – Northlands
And of course, the main event is the Canadian Finals Rodeo! Favourites run nightly and include Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Novice Events, Boys Steer Riding, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.
