Ahh, Spring Break in Edmonton! Some years we are still in the clutches of winter, often there is a lot of mud, sometimes it actually, almost feels like spring! Whatever it is doing outside, you need to keep your kiddos busy, and we have just the ticket to keep you going until school starts again!

Free Fun with EPL

Edmonton Public Libraries have over 100 events planned for spring break. That’s right, 174! Visit any location and you will find something going on, from storytime and puppet shows to science and technology fun in the Makerspace, there is something for every interest!

Books and Toys

Each day at IndigoKids locations, they will be hosting a chance to play! Each day will feature a different theme, with some of the most popular brands Chapters and Indigo carry! For details, see Spring Break at Chapters and Indigo!

Drop in to Michaels between 10am and 12pm each weekday during Spring Break to try a different daily craft featuring Elmer’s Glue.


International Children's Festival

Get pumped for Stories Alive at the International Children’s Festival of the Arts!

Have you ever been lost in the pages of a great book? What would it be like as a kid if fairy tale characters and images suddenly came to life right before your eyes? By exposing our children to experiences such as the International Children’s Festival of the Arts, we are opening their minds to a bigger and more exciting world.

Kids get a chance to sing and dance to world music, listen to stories about faraway places, interact with roving artists, and create their own masterpieces with the help of an array of hands-on Site Activities. And for the tiniest tykes? Toddler Town provides a true a festival-within-a-festival chock-full of puppets, musical performances, family games and more.

Back in 2018 by popular demand – a free user-friendly app that allows you to plan your Festival experience with confidence and the Kids weekend Butterfly Pass for only $20 which includes a feature performance and unlimited access to all Site Activities, Toddler Town, and loads of extras!

The Festival returns to the picturesque banks of the Sturgeon River in downtown St. Albert from May 29 to June 3, 2018.

Tickets go on sale and the International Children’s Festival of the Arts app is available for download on April 5.
