The City of Edmonton has cancelled its annual New Year’s Eve fireworks, but you can still ring in the New Year with fireworks displays in Sherwood Park, St. Albert and Stony Plain.

Choose from one of three great ski hills in Edmonton to try this fun winter sport!
- Splash Out at the World Waterpark Family Beach Ball
Escape the cold and celebrate the New Year in style at the World Waterpark! There will be a live DJ, caricature artists, a limbo party, character appearances, and even fireworks at midnight.
- Celebrate Noon Year at Telus World of Science Edmonton
Countdown to 2022 with live science demonstrations, including a unique version of fireworks that involves 12 colorful hydrogen balloons! Catch the fun at noon on Friday, December 31 or Saturday, January 1.
- Leap into 2022 with Launchpad Trampoline Park!
Come early, or stay late. From December 27 to January 2 the trampoline park will be transformed into a party nightly at 8 pm. Have a blast bouncing to the beat of the Live DJ and bright neon lights!
- See the Animals and Lights at Zoominescence
The Edmonton Valley Zoo’s annual light festival is back. Spend your New Year’s Eve or Day with all your favourite animals while making your way through all the great light displays set up throughout the zoo.
- Brighten Your Night at Glow Edmonton
Special guests Anna and Elsa are excited to welcome everyone to this magical INDOOR light forest. Stay warm as you see some great holiday light displays and capture fun selfies galore!
- Vote for your Favourite Festively Decorated House during Light-Up Leduc
Use the convenient Light-Up Leduc map to find the top holiday displays in each quadrant of the city, then vote online to help determine who will be crowned the grand prize winner on January 3, 2022
- Experience the Holiday Warmth of Luminaria
Visit the University of Alberta Botanic Garden to wander the snowy paths and check out all this winter light festival has to offer.
- Admire the Magic of Lights at RAD Torque Raceway
Hit up your favourite take-out for a cup of hot chocolate, then head out to drive through the 1.5 MILLION lights at RAD Torque Raceway.
- Brighten Up Beaumont
The Brighten Up Beaumont event has passed, but you can still take a stroll to see the decorated trees and impressive ice sculpture’s in Beaumont’s Four Seasons park. While there, also take a drive along the Twinkle Tour to see brightest and best decorated holiday homes in the city!
- Spend New Years Day with the Strathcona Wilderness Centre
Enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing, take a toonie ski lesson or take part in the toonie snowshoe ramble, warm up by the fire, and sample some tasty treats and hot chocolate!
- Get Colorful at the Alberta Art 0f Gallery
Sunday, January 2 is the last day to enjoy the colorful and interactive ROYGBIV exhibit at the Art Gallery. Reminder that kids admission is always free!
- New Year’s Day Fireworks at Glastonbury Park
If you don’t want to brave the cold for Fireworks on New Year’s Eve, we recommend you visit Glastonbury Park on New Year’s Day. It looks like it will be significantly warmer to enjoy for an afternoon of skating, sledding and a spectacular fireworks display!
- Take a drive or stroll down Candy Cane Lane
Edmonton’s favourite neighbourhood Christmas lights display is open nightly up until January 1, 2022. Park the car and take it in by foot to help work off some of those extra Christmas goodies!
- Visit the Leduc Country Lights
Bring the WHOLE family, dogs included, to take a walk through this impressive light display outside Leduc. The final day to enjoy these lights is January 2, 2022.
