It’s no secret – kids LOVE to climb! Get them off the curtains and bookcases and into a place where they can put their skills to good use! Vertically Inclined Rock Gym Semester Programs offer an outlet for their endless energy and expert instructors to help refine their natural abilities!
Semester programs run for 10 weeks. Each participant must have a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. It’s recommended that participants wear comfortable clothing they can move around in. Socks must be worn in the rental shoes.
Tadpoles (5 – 9 years) – 1.5 hours per week
No previous climbing experience required. Tadpoles learn the basics about climbing equipment, how to tie a climbing knot and all the climbing safety checks, and participate in fun climbing games and challenges!
Treefrogs (10 – 13 years) – 2 hours per week
No previous climbing experience required. Treefrogs learn the basics of rope management (belaying), tying climbing knot, and all the climbing safety checks. They spend a lot of time on the wall and participate in fun climbing games and challenges!
Tadpoles and Bullfrogs (kids 5 – 9 years and their parents) – 1.5 hours per week
A great chance for parents and kids to learn new and exciting skills and spend quality time together! Adults in this program will be ready to complete a belay check.
Tadpoles Plus (advanced program for 5 – 9 years) – 1.5 hours per week
This program is for 5-9 year-olds who have completed Tadpoles or the Junior Treefrogger Summer Camp, and who want to continue climbing and improving their skills.
Tadpoles Training Team (advanced program for 5 – 9 years) – 2 hours per week
This program is for 5-9 year olds who have completed Tadpoles Plus, Tadpoles or the Junior Treefrogger Summer Camp, and have a referral from their instructor. The Tadpoles Training Team is for climbers who want to train and push their climbing skills to new levels.
Treefrogs II (advanced program for 10 – 13 years) – 2 hours per week
This program is for 10-13 year olds who have completed Treefrogs, or the Treefrogger Summer Camp, and have a referral from their instructor. The Treefrogs II program teaches the skills involved in Lead Climbing and continues to help participants improve their climbing and confidence.
Climbing Club (10+) – 3 hours per week
Pre-requisites for this course are completion of Treefrogs Level I, Treefrogs Level II or the Getting Into It Course, as well as an instructor recommendation. Participants will learn the principles and skills involved in Lead Climbing.
