The John Janzen Nature Centre is the perfect spot when the days are cold and the kids are restless this winter! With an amazing indoor playground, a working beehive, live animals exhibits and plenty of other interactive displays, it is the perfect spot for a fun family outing or playdate with friends.<\/p>\n

Tegler Discovery Zone (10 and under)<\/h3>\n

When my kids were younger, we loved visiting the Tegler Discovery Zone<\/a> at the John Janzen Nature Centre. This indoor playground features your standard climbing equipment and slides themed in a way to encourage discovery and imagination. Children can pretend they are a small animal climbing through tunnels and caves, slide across the fake ice surface, splash and build dams in a working creek, step inside a giant toadstool, or pretend to be a bee beside the live (fully enclosed!) working beehive. The nature theming and attention to details in this space is remarkable. Plus, there are plenty of spots for parents to pull up a seat and relax as your children explore the fully enclosed space! Just don’t forget your socks.<\/p>\n

Exhibit Room<\/h3>\n

The exhibit room also offers plenty to see and do with interactive displays, activities and a menagerie of live animals. There are more tunnels to crawl through and explore, animal artifacts, scavenger hunt activities, and the wall of aquariums that home small wildlife like frogs, garter snakes and salamanders!<\/p>\n
