The University of Alberta Botanic Garden opens for the season on Monday, May 8, 2023 and has a couple very special celebrations planned during opening week!<\/p>\n

FREE Admission | Saturday, May 13<\/h3>\n

UPDATE from the @uabotanicgarden<\/a> Instagram page:<\/p>\n

The Lt. Governor\u2019s Coronation Celebration planned for Sat. May 13 at the Botanic Garden has been cancelled because of the ongoing wildfire situation that has resulted in a provincial state of emergency. The dancers, musical entertainment and refreshments originally planned for the May 13 celebration will instead be shared with Albertans staying at evacuation centres in Edmonton. Despite the event cancellation, the University of Alberta will continue to honour free admission to the Botanic Garden on May 13.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mother’s Day | Sunday, May 14<\/h3>\n

The University of Alberta Botanic Garden is a lovely place to spend Mother’s Day. Bring your favourite mom to the garden on Sunday, May 14 to wander the awakening spring gardens and explore the re-opened showhouses. Plus, the first 300 moms will enjoy a free pansy plant from the greenhouse!<\/p>\n
