The merriment of the holidays may be fading into the past, but things are just starting to heat up in Jasper! The Jasper in January Festival is three weeks of winter fun that showcase the beauty and depth of Jasper\u2019s fascinating past and fantastic present!<\/p>\n

Each week of the festival has a theme with unique activities for every age group. If your family can\u2019t find something awesome, I\u2019m sorry to have to tell you, but there is just no hope.<\/p>\n

See something listed that isn\u2019t in the week you plan to visit? Many activities are offered several times throughout the month. Be sure to check the schedule of events on the Jasper in January site<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"Jasper<\/a>

Adventures<\/strong> January 14-17 is for adventures\u2026 Jasper is known around the world for being a spot for all kinds of sports enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Don\u2019t worry if your skills need a little honing, there is still something for you too! From Fire-starting and Bannock-Making, to snowshoe lessons, plus interactive Aboriginal storytelling and learning experiences, there is something to pique the interest of everyone in your family.
\nDon\u2019t miss:<\/em> Winterstruck<\/a>, a day of outdoor family fun with sleigh rides, winter bocce, Aboriginal crafts, skating and more! January 16 at Pyramid Lake.<\/p>\n

Appetites<\/strong> There is a huge range of eating opportunities in Jasper and from January 21-24, Jasper in January is all about showing them off! For families there will be a Full Moon Feast and the chance to learn some back country cookery skills. If you have a babysitter, mom and dad might want to check out Hopscotch &Wine<\/a> or Wine in Winter.
\nDon\u2019t miss:<\/em> Food-a-pooloza<\/a> All weekend long select Jasper restaurants will be offering a $15 entr\u00e9e so you can get a taste of some delectable eats at a bargain price!<\/p>\n

Arts<\/strong> Art shows and demonstrations, a tipi design workshop and a wildlife camera safari are all part of what\u2019s in store for the final weekend (January 28-31)\u00a0of Jasper in January. There is a rich tradition of arts and crafting in the Mountain Parks. The third week of the festival is all about showcasing talent and unleashing your artistic inclinations!
\nDon\u2019t miss:<\/em> ATCO Street Party<\/a> on January 30, 2016 to finish off what is sure to be another amazing Jasper in January, Patricia Street is transforming into the ultimate party venue. Street performers, aboriginal drumming, and cool winter activities will be on hand to add to the fun. To cap off the night, join the light parade to Centennial Park for a fireworks spectacular!<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a place to stay<\/strong>, there are a bunch of lodging deals available during the festival. The Mountain Park Lodges<\/a> have a ski and stay deal and \u00a0The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge<\/a> is running a \u201cthe Longer you Stay, the Less you Pay\u201d promotion; both\u00a0good for\u00a0the length of the festival. If you are able to visit during the week, you can take advantage of some great midweek deals from Best Western Jasper Inn<\/a> and Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre<\/a>.
