Dream Tulum Resort and Spa
The Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa is a gorgeous, colonial style all-inclusive hotel surrounded by lush gardens, overlooking opulent fountains and situated on a private, powdery soft beach. It’s about a 90 minute drive from the Cancun airport and minutes away from some of best family fun activities the Mayan Riviera has to offer.

This was our family’s third stay at a Dreams resort. My husband and I fell in love with Dreams when we first stayed at the Dreams Cancun in 2007 and fell all over again at the Dreams in Puerto Vallarta in 2009.
There are a few things that make Dreams Resorts and Spas a favourite place for my family to stay during our vacations.
Open Air Dining:
Whenever I close my eyes and dream about a winter escape, I always envision myself sipping morning coffee in a sunny open air restaurant on the beach. The Dreams Tulum has two a la carte restaurants where you can dine outside. In fact, my favorite, the Seaside Grill is 10 feet from the beach. There is nothing better than hearing the waves lap on the beach, inhaling the ocean air while sipping a morning coffee or an evening Pinot Grigio.

No Reservations Required:
The last thing I want to do on vacation is check my watch. I dislike having to rush to get to dinner or opt to eat at the buffet every night because I forgot to make, or missed my dinner reservation. There is no limit to the number of meals you can enjoy at the Dreams a la carte restaurants and no reservations are required. If you’ve ever stayed at a resort where you have had to plan your meals days in advance and have a limited selection of a la carte options, you can appreciate the flexibility of being able to eat when you want and where you want. There are seven gourmet, à la carte and one buffet-style restaurant. In the morning, Italian might seem like a good choice only to have a craving for sushi come dinner time.

Awesome Explorers Club for Kids:
The first thing my kids want to do when we arrive at our hotel is check out the kids club. Both of my children are really social and love making friends on their holidays. I’ve always found the staff at the Explorers Club to be full of energy and fun. The staff seem to really love the kids in their care, and that can make all the difference to your children, and to the moms or dads who might have a little trouble letting go. The daily programs are for children ages 3-12 and include treasure hunts, face painting, sandcastle competitions, Spanish lessons, crafts, movies on the beach on a big-screen tv and campout adventures (weather permitting).
Whenever we returned to the hotel after our outings our kids begged to go to the Explorers Club, and we were only happy to oblige. A romantic dinner for mom and dad and a movie on the beach for the kids sounds like a win-win to me!

The Beach:
The Dreams Tulum Resort is bordered by two miles of secluded white sandy beach. My family and I spent hours frolicking in the waves. In addition to the resort being situated on a private beach with plenty of beach chairs complete with wait staff to bring a refreshing bevvie when necessary, there is a limitless supply of towels and no towel card is required. This might seem minor but trust me, I’ve paid my fair share of towel replacement fees at other resorts because my hotel towel has gone missing. It’s a small but much appreciated perk offered at Dreams Resorts. Because the Dreams is on a private beach, your rest won’t be disrupted by peddlers here. No regrettable holiday cornrow braids or knock off Ray-Bans for you!
The Staff:
The staff at the Dreams resorts are always amazingly friendly and accommodating. From the time you arrive and they greet you with “Welcome Home!” to the friendly and warm demeanor of the serving staff, bartenders, and housekeeping staff, everyone seems genuinely happy to help you out with whatever you need.

Having been to 3 different Dreams properties in Mexico, I know I can expect a similar level of service no matter which Dreams I visit, something that is very important to me when investing our time and money on a family vacation. Even the restaurants at all the resorts share the same names so it is really nice going to a new resort in a different part of Mexico and still having the familiarity of our favourite Seaside Grill or Portofino’s. It is that consistency in service that keeps us going back again and again.
