Get Lost… in the Edmonton Corn Maze

Of all the things to do in Edmonton this fall, the annual trip to the corn maze, which has been in operation since 2001, is a priority for residents and tourists. A visit to this farm also offers a sunflower field and a pumpkin patch. COVID-19 safeguards include online timed tickets for entry, social distancing, sanitizing stations, and limits on group sizes. The owners of the maze change the design every year. The theme of this year’s maze is aptly titled, Stronger Together. The maze can be completed in 30 minutes, but for the directionally challenged, it takes about an hour. Learn more here about the Edmonton Corn Maze.

Do a Fly By the Edmonton Aviation Museum

Edmonton’s Blatchford Field was an exciting and important site during World War II. Now you have a chance to fly back in time by visiting a historic collection of aircraft and other aviation memorabilia in and around the 1941/1942-built hanger. From rustic bush planes loved by famous Canadian aviators to a sleek fighter jet and other warplanes, there is something for everyone in this museum. COVID-19 precautions include online timed ticket entry, group size restrictions, and social distancing. Learn more about the Edmonton Aviation Museum here.

Get Fresh and Local at a Farmers’ Market

Farmers’ markets are usually associated with summer, but the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market is open year-round. Open every Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm, this market has been an iconic part of Edmonton and area since the 1980s. What a great way to get seasonal produce, fresh baked goods, farm-grown meat, and so much more. If it’s made, baked, grown, or crafted, you’ll find it among the 120+ vendors. COVID-19 protocols include the request for one person per household to shop, physical distancing, and a request to limit the time spent on the premises. Go for a Walk

The pandemic has taught us many lessons, chief among them that the greatest pleasures in life are free and close to home. Edmonton has a stunning river valley that comes to life in the fall. The trees are awash in colour, making each step on the trails a beautiful experience. The City of Edmonton’s website lists trail maps and indicates accessibility.
