10 Top Family-Friendly Events in HalifaxIt’s definitely worth mentioning that Saturday and Sunday will be warm, clear and dry, with very little chance of rain, and temperatures about 8 degrees. Keep that in mind when planning your weekend! Here is our list of 10 top family-friendly events in Halifax this weekend:

Caribou Clatter and Reindeer Matter: Our top pick for the weekend is the Weekend Reindeer Event at Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park, where you can learn about Reindeer and even help Santa FEED the reindeer!

Reindeer Cam: If you can’t make it to Shubenacadie in person, tune into the Reindeer Cam every day at 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, to see Santa feeding the reindeer! The cam opens on Saturday, December 12th.

Holiday Village: If you haven’t visited the Museum of Natural History recently, check out Holiday Village– a nostalgic glimpse into the world of Snow White- as she used to be every year, in the Mills Brothers Window display. It’s magical!

LEGO at the museum: LEGO, City by the Sea is back at the Maritime Museum. Did you know that the museum is accepting entries for a LEGO contest? Bring along an original LEGO creation to add to the Halifax LEGO display, and you could win!

Monkey’s Fist: This sounds a little dirty, doesn’t it? Well, a Monkey’s Fist is actually a sailor’s knot- and you can make one as a Christmas ornament, also at the Maritime Museum of The Atlantic this weekend! This is a registered event.

See Santa: Our list of The Best Places in Halifax to see Santa gives you the times that Santa is available around shopping malls in Halifax, Dartmouth and Bedford. We also tell you who has the best Santa, according to our Christmas Elves!

Craft Fairs and Markets: The Last Minute Craft Fair is one of the final Craft Fairs and Markets in Halifax before the family holiday season begins, at the Halifax Forum on Saturday and Sunday.

See the Grinch: Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas is the Family Favourites movie this Saturday at Cineplex Theatres in Bayer’s Lake, Dartmouth Crossing and Sackville. We just love it when they bring out the old classics!

The Good Dinosaur Sensory Screening: The Cineplex Sensory Screening this weekend is The Good Dinosaur. If someone in your family has autism and/or prefers a quiet, brighter movie environment, this is the place to be!

Christmas Ballet: There are still a few seats left for The Nutcracker at the Dalhousie Arts Centre.

Have we missed any important events? Let us know in the comments! Have a lovely weekend!
