Looking for fun and educational activities to keep your kids entertained this March Break? Why not take a day trip out of the city to the Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum, located less than 30 minutes from Halifax in Goffs, NS (opposite the Halifax Airport).  ACAM is Atlantic Canada’s only museum devoted to preserving all aspects of Atlantic Canada’s aviation heritage. Granted “Local Museum” status by the Nova Scotia Museum in 1989, it has been owned and operated by local volunteers since its inception in 1977.

Normally only open on Saturdays during the winter months, the Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum will be open Monday to Saturday during March Break, March 16 – 21, 2026. From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day, you can stop by to see their amazing aircraft collection, Kid’s Cockpit, and more! They also have a huge gift shop, so be sure to visit it before leaving for a fun souvenir or great gift ideas for the aviation fanatics in your life.

Both civilian and military aviation history are depicted in the extensive displays found within the facility. There are hundreds of artifacts on display, large and small, from books, badges and uniforms to engines and aircraft. Designed to be informative from a heritage standpoint, your family will leave with a greater knowledge of local aviation history, from the earliest balloons and gliders to modern aircraft. Museum admission is by donation; $10 per person is suggested.

If you’re looking to take your flight experience to the next level, you can be the Captain and fly the AVAJET Airlines Boeing  737 Flight Simulator! Flight times must be booked in advance, and they are now booking flights in March and April (Saturdays only). The simulator is for ages 12 and up, and a 60-minute flight is $79.99.
