Are you ready for a summer experience with memories to last a lifetime? Arthur Kidston Memorial Camp has been offering children’s overnight camping programs since 1966. Kidson’s safe and happy summer camping programs focus on the power of play, joining together, the beauty of diversity, the value of challenge and trying new things, lifelong growth, and the healing power of the natural world. It is situated on over 500 acres of woods and water in the northeast corner of HRM and is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, unplug and experience an oasis of nature.
Their summer camps include:
• Lakeside Supervised Swimming and Water Activities
• Canoeing and Kayaking
• Campfires and Singing
• Out-trips and Outdoor Living Skills
• Sports and Games
• Arts and Crafts
• Faith Exploration
Camp Kidston is accredited by both the United Church of Canada and the Camping Association of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Camp Kidston welcomes and honours campers of all traditions, gender identities, and faith or non-faith traditions. At Kidston, kids are free to be themselves and to explore their place in the universe in a safe and nurturing environment.

Camp Kidston is pleased to offer a selection of different camping experiences:
Tadpole Camp is tailored specifically for the youngest campers who may need a little more care and attention. This 4-night camp offers extra staff support and simplified activities to help ensure every camper experiences success. Tadpole campers will still have lots of opportunities to sing, swim, paddle, play, create, climb, explore, and make new friends.
Kidston’s 5-night Junior Camps are classic summer camping at its best! Each session includes sports and games, campfires, canoeing, out-tripping, and more adventures. The multi-age format allows siblings of different ages to attend camp during the same week while still providing unique programs and activities with other campers in their own age group.
Camp Kidston is excited to be offering two Senior Camping Programs this year. Their ‘Classic’ Senior Session offers 5-nights of swimming, canoeing, sports, games, and camp fun but with extra adventure and leadership options for the teen campers. Their ‘Wilderness’ Senior Session focuses on outdoor education and leadership skills, while still including all the traditional Camp Kidston activities!
Counsellor in Training Camp
Camp Kidston’s Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for youth ages 14-16 years. This program focuses on team building, exploration of personal strengths and values, canoeing and outdoor education skills, building an understanding of leadership, and learning to lead programs and work with younger campers.
