Follow the trail of bright sparkling lights to the heart of Downtown Halifax. This holiday season, our beautiful city will be transformed into a winter wonderland with spectacular light shows around every corner. The holidays are truly delightful in Downtown Halifax.

DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN is a winter light program created by the Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC). It includes vivid light shows, striking installations, and many illuminated areas throughout the Downtown core. This time of year, you can expect to see trees wrapped in lights, snowflake decorations on light poles and the return of everyone’s favourite 26’ decorated Christmas winter tree! The Halifax Christmas Tree lighting and City Hall Holiday Projection Show in Grand Parade will both debut on November 26th and run until January 1st. The debut event will feature a visit from Santa, fireworks special appearances by PAW Patrol, and other talented musical guests.

We promise you will stumble upon holiday magic with every turn. There are special winter and holiday-themed light installations shows and projections taking place at Peace and Friendship Park, the Halifax Memorial Library building at Grafton Park, Granville Mall, Raymond Taavel Park & Bedford Row and the Halifax Memorial Library building at Grafton Park. Many of these installations will remain for the holidays and last throughout the winter season. To see more details about each marvellous instalment, visit the Downtown Halifax website.

Delightful downtown

This year, a new light display called the ‘DELIGHTFUL Gift Box’ will be introduced. Grab your cameras because this is the perfect backdrop for your holiday family photos. Head down to the Halifax Waterfront to find this installation, and take in all that DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN and Evergreen Festival have to offer.

The Evergreen Festival is returning November 25th -December 18th with music, lights and everything needed  to create the perfect holiday atmosphere. The festival’s Evergreen Bright is a walkable outdoor trail of twinkling light displays along the Halifax waterfront and throughout Downtown. So, come out to see the lights and stay for the fun. Downtown Halifax is vibrant and exciting with lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The days are getting shorter, and that just means there is more time for holiday magic.
