April is here! Bring on the flowers and showers… the warmer weather and longer days! April is the official first full month of spring and if you are looking to do some spring cleaning or pick up some clothes for the ever growing little sprouts, there are many spring kids consignment sales in April and May. Easter comes hopping along in the middle of the month with lots of Easter activities and egg hunts. We also have some special guests coming  to town with the ‘Princess and Superhero Tea Party’ on April 7th and  ‘Stars on Ice’ on April 26th.

Halifax Burger Week: (March 28-April 3): This city wide burger-eating celebration is a fundraiser for Feed Nova Scotia and last year raised over $115,000! During Burger Week, over 125 local restaurants will feature tasty burger specials for one week only, many with a special $6 burger on the menu.

POMBA Sale (April 6): The Spring Kids Consignment Sales have begun! Find lots of treasures at the POMBA Sale!

Symphony Nova Scotia Family Series (April 6-7): Symphony Nova Scotia presents ‘Cartoons, Comics and Characters’ as part of their FREE Family Series Concerts.

Princess and Superhero Tea Party (April 7): This magical event will delight all your little princesses and superheroes and it’s in support of a great cause – Children’s Wish!

Symphony NS presents Coppélia (April 12-14): Symphony Nova Scotia and Canada’s Ballet Jörgen present this magical performance of Coppélia.

AGNS Family Sunday (April 14): Get creative! Join the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia once a month for their Family Sunday Event with studio activities that are inspired by a specific exhibition or theme. Join them this month for ‘A Sense of Site’.

Vegetorium Easter Egg Hunt (April 20): Enjoy finding eggs at the annual Vegetorium Egg Hunt and when you are finished, trade your eggs in for healthy fruit! Don’t forget to look for the Easter Bunny hopping about the trails!

Hatfield Farm Easter Egg Hunt (April 20-21): Hop on over to Hatfield Farm for their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Family Round-up. Gather eggs and enjoy some Farm Fun!

Stars on Ice (April 26): See some of Canada’s best skaters at the Scotiabank Centre Stars on Ice. Canada’s beloved Olympic Team Gold Medalists will headline the show.

Unicorn Theatre (April 26-28, May 3-5): The Unicorn Theatre presents ‘Seussical Jr.’ Join them as they bring to life some of Dr. Seuss’s best-loved characters.

We-Cycle Kids Consignment Sale (April 27): Tantallon’s annual kids consignment sale has some of the best bargains in town!

Portland Estates Elementary Consignment Sale (April 27): Pick up new treasures at the Portland Estates Kids Sale!

Chebucto Symphony Orchestra Kids Concert (April 27): The Chebucto Symphony Orchestra presents their annual matinee performance for kids.
