Can’t stay up until midnight, but don’t want to miss out on the festivities? New Year’s at Noon is a kid-friendly dance party that is open to everyone

New Year’s Eve Family Extravaganza
This family New Years Eve event features a variety of land and water-based activities, contests, games, arts and crafts. What a great way to say goodbye to 2018!

New Year’s Eve at Grand Parade
Join in the biggest outdoor New Years Eve celebration in the city and countdown to 2019 with Zaki Ibrahim and Said the Whale! The celebration will finish with the largest fireworks display in Atlantic Canada at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Public Skate and Fireworks at the Halifax Oval

The New Year’s Eve event at The Halifax Oval is a great celebration for families with kids of all ages. This is a FREE family friendly event. Night skates: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and 9:00 pm – 12 midnight. Fireworks at 7:00 pm and midnight.

2019 Polar Bear Swims

Herring Cove Polar Bear Dip for Feed Nova Scotia
This polar bear dip has been going for 24 years! Register in advance. Not suitable for children (but fun to watch)!
When: Tuesday, January 1st, 2019
Time: 2:00 pm (Registration at 12:00 pm)
Where: Government Wharf in Herring Cove

4th Annual Polar ‘Bunny’ Dip at White Point Beach Resort
White Point is looking for family Dippers to kick off their 91st anniversary – everyone is welcome! Dress in your red swimsuits for the ‘Year of the Lobster’, meet at the bonfire at 3:00pm, head for a quick dip into the ocean … then make a mad dash for the heated indoor pool. See & hear what 2017 was like- watch this video.
