Fall Registration for Halifax REC programs is opening soon, and we don’t want you to miss out! Whether you are looking to introduce your little one to a new activity, or your child is ready to take their skills and training to the next level, Halifax Recreation is the most reliable place to stay up-to-date with the region’s top programs for children and youth.
The Halifax REC Portal is an easy-to-use system that streamlines your registration process and gains you to access all of the recreation programs and services that The Halifax Regional Municipality has to offer. Simply find a community centre listed within the portal and pull up their schedule for a list of activities, age groups, dates, and fees. With over 50 community and recreation centres around the municipality, Halifax REC is the best way to find the programs that fit you and your family. Each participating centre delivers its programs at different dates and times, so the best way to discover what each location offers is to visit their websites directly for their individual registration information.
Providing our children opportunities to discover what they enjoy is the best way to set them up for success. Recreational activities can help improve your child’s physical literacy while they build confidence and make new friends. This personal growth can positively impact other areas of their life and provide increased motivation to succeed in school and their other physical and academic pursuits.
Halifax REC programs are offered for children ages 0-17, and there are a wide variety of activities to choose from including an extensive list of dryland, aquatics and skating programs. Do you have a high-energy child that won’t stop running through your house? Check out soccer, badminton and floor hockey this fall. Was it so hard to get your kid out of the water this summer that you were convinced they were turning into a fish? Release them back into the water with swimming lessons or canoeing. Is your little one a performer? Sign up them up for musical theatre, dance, and music lessons. Perhaps, you are wanting to help your little one find more focus and discipline, try yoga, or martial arts. With a continued focus on physical education through recreation, fitness, and aquatics activities, there is something for all ages and fitness levels to enjoy this September.
We encourage you to mark the fall registration dates in your calendar because competition for Halifax REC registration is often stiff due to the popularity of these high-quality programs. Registration for Fall Dryland Programs begins August 17 at 10:00 am, and Fall Aquatics & Skating starts August 18 at 10:00 am.
