The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 has reopened and will be hosting workshops this March Break inspired by the museum’s temporary exhibition, The World of Yousuf Karsh: A Private Essence. Participants will learn about taking portraits the way Karsh did: with a keen eye for understanding how to capture a subject’s inner life with a single still image.
‘Connecting Through the Lens: Portrait Workshops’, approximately 20 minutes in length, will be offered multiple times each day. The workshops are limited to 10 participants and on-site registration is required.
Workshop times: 11:00 am, 11:30 am, 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm, 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm daily.
Each participant will be required to take photos using their own devices and the portraits will be printed for participants to take home as a keepsake. All ages welcome. Parental supervision is required for participants younger than 12 years of age.
