Summer fun is waiting for you at the Maskwa Aquatic Club! Spend the summer in the great outdoors enjoying paddling, swimming, hiking and more. Stay active and fit while learning lots about the sport of canoe/kayak, making lifelong friends, and having a summer you’ll never forget! Registration is NOW OPEN for Adventure Day Camps and Paddling Programs.
Summer Paddling
The Summer paddling program is an 8-week program for children ages 7 years and up (as of Jan 1, 2025). No prior paddling experience is necessary for any of the paddling levels! Beginners are exposed to canoes, kayaks, singles and team boats. More experienced paddlers can improve their skills and compete not only locally and regionally, but nationally and beyond. Every age group participates daily in paddling activities and dry land training, including basketball, outdoor games, sand court activities and more. Children will remain in their specific age groups, with the same coaches, throughout the entire summer.
All summer program participants must be comfortable in and around the water while wearing a PFD, as participants will be in, on, and around the water for the majority of every day all summer. Participants must bring their own PFD daily to camp.
The Summer Paddling Program takes place weekdays from June 30 – August 22, 2025. Hours of the program are from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (early drop-off at 8:00 am, and late pick-up ending at 5:00 pm)
Cost (All-in-one Pricing): $1499 for all ages levels
U10 Paddling (under 10 years of age as of January 1st, 2025)
U12 Paddling (under 12 years of age as of January 1st, 2025)
U14 Paddling (under 14 years of age as of January 1st, 2025)
Adventure Day Camp
Adventure Day Camp is an exciting daytime drop-off program for children between the ages of 7 – 12 years old (7 years of age by Jan 1, 2025 – no exceptions) and is offered in two week blocks. Each day, experienced camp counsellors provide your children with a mix of on-water and off-water activities, including canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, basketball, crafts and more. Approximately two hours daily are dedicated to exploring beautiful Kearney Lake in boats, with participants learning the basics of paddling in a safe environment.
This is a 2 week program (4 separate 2 week camps over the summer) that runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (early drop-off at 8:00 am, and late pick-up ending at 5:00 pm). There is a bonus 1 week program at the end of the summer
Cost:
$649 per 2 week block, or $585 for 2 week blocks short a day. Bonus Week $325 (family discounts are provided for multiple registrants from one family)
With Maskwa programs led by four full time, year-round coaches and a private, lifeguarded beach on site, your kids will be in good hands near and on the water. There is also a trailhead to the Birch Cove-Blue Mountain Wilderness Area where groups will hike and play. and a daily canteen on site for added convenience.
Not only are camps at Maskwa fun, but they can also be competitive! Summer paddlers get to compete at Atlantic U10 regattas and U12/U14 Atlantic Championships depending on ages. When you learn with Maskwa, you learn with the best! Maskwa is the current Atlantic Champion at all ages, and considered the current top canoe club in Canada, as 2023 and 2024 National Champions – many of these athletes are the coaches for the summer camps – kids are learning from the best paddlers in Canada!
