The Nova Scotia Loyal School Voucher Program is back for a second year! After a successful first year in 2024, the program, a partnership between Farmers’ Markets of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Loyal, will continue for the 2025 market season. With increased talk in the news around the awareness of shopping local and investing in the local community, it’s a great time to explore the farmers markets near you and open your eyes to local businesses you can support. This program will help introduce students and their families to local shopping opportunities and vendors. Last year, 38% of voucher users were first-time market visitors!

Every public, homeschool and Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey student from pre-primary to grade 12 will be given a $10 Nova Scotia Loyal voucher to spend at participating farmers’ markets within the province. Newcomers to Nova Scotia will also be offered the opportunity to learn about the small businesses in their new province, with clients of  ISANS and YREACH receiving vouchers also. Take the opportunity to visit markets and explore homegrown and handmade products. Lots of fresh produce, tasty desserts, jewelry, art, and more can be found at your local market!

Vouchers can not be redeemed for cash (no change back) and have a maximum value of $10. See the full list of participating markets on their website.

2025 is a great year to be Nova Scotia Local!
