Hands-on Adventure with A Soldier&#8217;s Life at The Halifax Citadel National Historic Site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who says history can&#8217;t be fun? \u00a0To experience history hands-on, I dispatched two very special envoys to check out <a href=\"https:\/\/parks.canada.ca\/lhn-nhs\/ns\/halifax\/activ\/decouverte-tours\/soldat-jour-soldier-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Soldier&#8217;s Life<\/a><strong>, <\/strong>now in its fourth year<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/halifax\/the-citadel-national-historic-site\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Halifax Citadel and Historic Site<\/a>.\u00a0With a strong sense of adventure and a\u00a0keen interest in military history, my Godson and his brother, aged 8 and 10, were eager recruits. Plus, like so many of us in Halifax, they have a strong family connection to the military. What a blast&#8230;literally!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2200\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2200\" class=\"wp-image-2200 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/halifax\/files\/2015\/08\/A-Soldiers-Life-Noon-Canon.jpg\" alt=\"Halifax Citadel A Soldier's Life\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2200\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Debbie Malaidack<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After the tour, families are welcome to roam the Halifax Citadel, join another guided tour (one leaves each hour), visit the exhibits, have a snack in the cafe, or browse the gift shop. \u00a0You could easily spend most of the day at the world-famous Halifax Citadel, before venturing into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familyfuncanada.com\/take-towners-halifax\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Downtown Halifax <\/a>to explore the rest of our beautiful city.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Soldier&#8217;s Life<\/strong> is suitable for children ages 6-12 years old.
