I spent Friday morning experiencing Imagine Van Gogh. My son was in school and while he would have LOVED it, I think he’s a little young to really appreciate it all. Instead, I went with my mom and sister. I’ve seen photos and posts from other cities and I am so glad that Imagine Van Gogh made its way to Saskatoon<\/a>! It’s located at Saskatoon’s Thatcher Avenue Warehouse. I’ve never been there before but it seemed like the perfect location for the exhibit. It did seem like more than just an exhibit but an experience.<\/p>\n

We really appreciated the information section of the exhibit. I went in knowing a little bit about Van Gogh’s art but I didn’t really know a lot about him. I read about his family, his art, and his mental illness.<\/p>\n

I learned about both Van Gogh and the people who created the exhibit. It made me appreciate the art I was about to see.<\/p>\n

The exhibit was amazing and watching his portraits and art on the screens was fantastic. He made these stunning pieces while struggling in his life. He always had art in his life and we are so lucky we get to see it. I do wonder what he would have thought about the exhibit with his art flashing on the walls and floor. I hope he would be proud of what he had accomplished.<\/p>\n

The layout made it perfect to walk around and take photos without being in anybody’s way. They encourage photo-taking as long as the flash isn’t on. There is a lot of movement on the screens and I heard a few people have had trouble moving around as the art scrolled. I didn’t really have that problem but could see how it could happen.<\/p>\n

The art in the exhibit is on a loop. It takes about a half-hour to get through the loop. We stayed a little longer because we wanted to see Sunflowers and The Starry Night a second time.<\/p>\n

We really enjoyed our time. The music and the art worked well together and it was a wonderful and different experience. They tell you to stay as long as you need and we were glad to have that time.<\/p>\n

There is a gift shop at the end. Of course, you are under no obligation to buy anything. They have some nice items to take a look at and the people selling them were incredibly kind.<\/p>\n
