We decided to take a trip to Glow Gardens Saskatoon after school this week with some friends. I’m going to be completely upfront before I start talking about the experience. The setup is amazing but my son’s behaviour was not amazing. He was in a bad mood and not afraid to show it. I have never been to Glow Gardens before so I didn’t want to go home but there were times that I should have just thrown in the towel and headed out. This has nothing to do with the event itself and everything to do with the fact that things don’t always go as planned with your little ones.<\/p>\n

The 2021 theme at Glow Gardens is Glow Around the World. They give all of the kids a passport and they get stamps at the five countries of beautiful lights. We saw The Netherlands, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and China. The kids got stamps from all of them and got a Candy Cane at the end for their efforts.<\/p>\n

Around every corner, we found a new adventure. Places for the kids to play, princesses, food, Santa Claus, music, trains, and a playground. My son never ran out of activities and it was hard to convince him to move from one section to the next. Even with the masks, we could tell the kids had smiles on from ear to ear.<\/p>\n

There were some truly magical spots for kids and adults. Although my son is too quick and it was pretty easy to lose him in the lights. Next time, I’ll make sure he’s lit up too!<\/p>\n

The playground was perfect with a lot of climbing areas for the kids. To be honest,\u00a0 my son probably could have spent the entire time there. It’s always hard as a mom – I want to see everything and explore it all but I also have to do it on his schedule. This beautiful event is great for adults and kids alike!<\/p>\n

The kids got another chance to see Santa Clause. Santa asked my son if he’s been good this year. My boy was very honest. He said, “Half good and half bad.”<\/p>\n

My friend and I both decided next time we visit, we MIGHT leave the kids at home. They moved too fast to take any photos with us but they did slow down at the end of the visit. We were happy to take a break with some supper and Christmas drinks. The kids each got a glowing lightbulb cup.<\/p>\n

The glowing swings were a hit. It gave them a bit of time to slow down and relax while watching the lights around them.<\/p>\n

They both had a chance to sit and visit with Cinderella as she walked around the Glow Gardens. They were excited to meet her and take a photo with her.<\/p>\n

My son asked for a ‘family photo’ at the end of our visit. He’s old enough to know friends are the family we choose.\u00a0 We took one more photo before we split up to head home. Two VERY tired moms headed home to hopefully get the kiddos tucked into bed.<\/p>\n

We had a fun time and the sparkles that surrounded us as we toured the Glow Gardens<\/a> were amazing. The kids never ran out of activities and there was room for them to get rid of some of their extra energy. Anytime my son saw somebody taking a photo, he tried to hop in it. I apologize to anybody who now has a photo of my little photo bomber.<\/p>\n
