Saskatoon Berry Picking has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My son and I started Saskatoon berry picking together when he was one. He is a great help while we pick but also wants to bring every spider we find home. He seems to do better than I do at keeping them in his container and not eating them! We haven’t tried a lot of spots with wild Saskatoons but we really love the places where we can pick them ourselves and then pay for them. A lot of people use Saskatoons for baking. I enjoy eating them alone or in baking. Don’t forget to bring containers.<\/p>\n

About the Saskatoon Berry<\/strong><\/p>\n

I did a little bit of research about these delicious berries here<\/a>. Saskatoon berry is a native shrub that grows in Saskatchewan and beyond. Our city takes its name from a Cree word “Mis-sask-quah-too-mina\u201d for the fruit. Saskatoons were important to Aboriginal people and early settlers. Saskatoon Berries were used for minerals and vitamins. (And of course, they taste amazing!)<\/p>\n

Saskatoon Berry picking season usually starts in July. We have a few great places around Saskatoon to pick and I thought we needed a list of where you can go. Everybody I asked seemed to have a favourite. One of the things I love most about picking berries is the sound of all the families around us. They are outside, enjoying the day, enjoying their family, and enjoying the berries.<\/p>\n

The Berry Barn<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pre-picked saskatoon berries are available now for $28 per pail.<\/p>\n

U-Pick Saskatoon Berries starts July 4th, 2025 for $14 per pail.<\/p>\n

Crystal Beach Orchards<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

Address: Railway Ave S0L 1K0 Harris<\/p>\n

They offer Saskatoon Berry and Sour cherry U-Pick orchard.
\nWe are waiting for an update to see if they have berries this year.<\/p>\n

Lorraine’s Saskatoon Berries<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

Address: 3625 Mount Royal Avenue Saskatoon<\/p>\n

They are opening on July 7, 2025 and will stay open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 6 PM until the berries are finished. They are $2.20 a pound<\/p>\n

Lotsberry Farm<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

Address: 13km South on Highway 219 (Lorne Ave)<\/p>\n

Note: Watch for them to open in 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Moon Lake Saskatoon Berry Barn<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

Address: 775 Valley Road<\/p>\n

Please check their Facebook page for opening day updates.<\/p>\n

Regular hours 8 am – 8 pm<\/p>\n

Rhodes’ Raspberries and Black Currants<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Address: 36229 Range Road 3062 near Cedar Villa Estates, Carmart Road<\/p>\n

As of July 2, 2025, Haskaps and Saskatoon Berries are ready for the season. They are open Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Saskatoon Berries are $4 a pound.<\/p>\n

They also will have raspberries, black currants and seabuckthorn berries. They also have prepicked, jams and ice cream.<\/p>\n

Seager Wheeler Farm<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

Address: Seager Wheeler Rd Rosthern<\/p>\n

Check their Facebook page for updates on the Saskatoon Berry Picking but Seager Wheeler is open for tours and strolls around the yard.<\/p>\n

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm<\/p>\n

U-We Pick Saskatoon Berries<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

Address: 14 km west of Saskatoon on highway fourteen; turn north on Cameron Hill Road; please watch for our signs- Grandora Berries & U-We pick berries, Grandora, SK<\/p>\n

Open July 4, 2025.<\/p>\n

These amazing berry-picking places are open until the season is done but make sure you check out the other fruit they may also have for you to pick! Enjoy your berry-picking! It’s an amazing opportunity for some family fun, some learning and some great outdoor time.<\/p>\n

Don’t forget you can pick wild Saskatoon berries as well. There are even a few places around the river in Saskatoon!<\/p>\n
