Thank you to the last year of great Family Fun! Here is our best of 2025 in Saskatoon. Every year, I like to do a recap and pick a few favourites from each month. Most of these will be back in 2026 which makes it extra fun to share because you can find them again in our new year. Thank you to all our readers for your support this year. It’s been such a great year full of amazing events.<\/p>\n

Most months, we’ve also had many visits to Saskatoon Libraries<\/a>, the Saskatoon Farmers’ Market<\/a>, playgrounds<\/a>, lots of walks by the river, watched the sky do amazing things and of course tried out some tobogganing hills<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Best of 2025 in Saskatoon<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Harlem Globetrotters<\/p><\/div>\n

You never know what’s going to happen in January. It’s a rest month after the holidays, but it’s also usually pretty full of fun events and outdoor activities. My son had his first experience at the Harlem Globetrotters<\/a>, and loved the comedy of it all, but he would have floor seats. We went to Gather Local Market<\/a> for their Frost and Fire Festival and we learned how to make Bannock over the fire. We also found a nice day to visit Beaver Creek to feed the chickadees.<\/p>\n

Wintershines 2025<\/p><\/div>\n

February is short but busy with Valentine’s Day events and Family Day\/week activities. I got to participate in the Wintershines Soup-off and my son and I loved exploring the fun at Wintershines<\/a>. The link is from a couple of years ago, but we get there every year. The big ice slide is my son’s favourite. We went swimming at the Wave pool at Lawson Civic Centre, and went snowshoeing<\/a> at Wanuskewin Heritage Park<\/a>. If I remember correctly, this month was pretty cold so when the weather was nice, we got outside as much as possible.<\/p>\n

Persephone Theatre 2025<\/p><\/div>\n

March was full of snowy fun. Things slowed down a little for our family this month. I enjoyed the Persephone<\/a> performance with a friend. We have season tickets, and I’m always thrilled with the performance. We did some ice fishing, puddle jumping, walks by the river, and hikes at Cranberry Flats. We also went to a few Spring Markets.<\/p>\n

Wide Open Children’s Theatre 2025<\/p><\/div>\n

We had SO much fun in April, and it’s hard to pick a favourite. We went for hikes<\/a> to search for the crocus blooms. We went to see Minecraft at the Clubhouse<\/a> at Cineplex. We made a birdhouse with Young Naturalists<\/a>, and then explored the Saskatoon Zoo. We went to a wonderful performance called Luna by 25th Street Theatre. We also saw a puppet show with all boxes called\u00a0SQUARE by Wide Open Children\u2019s Theatre<\/a>. This month also brought us chances to try new donuts<\/a>, Easter fun, and ladybug hunting.<\/p>\n

Fable Ice Cream<\/p><\/div>\n

Beautiful May brought us ice cream<\/a>, the outdoors, mother’s day shopping at greenhouses<\/a>, and my son’s birthday party at\u00a0Party-Bots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"

Saskatoon’s Big Fun Bike Ride<\/p><\/div>\n

June was a month of exciting activities and events, but it was also quite smokey out, and our hearts were with those dealing with the wildfires. We were able to catch Breathe at SUM Theatre\u2019s Theatre in the Park<\/a>, and we made it out to the Children’s Festival<\/a>, and participated in Saskatoon’s Big Fun Bike Ride<\/a> at Life Outside. We picked flowers at Black Fox, went to the Berry Barn, and tried out the Soda Stop in Saskatoon, all while attending events for the last few weeks of school.<\/p>\n

Lessons with Right to Skate<\/p><\/div>\n

July was busy and warm. We celebrated\u00a0Canada Day in Saskatoon<\/a>, spent some time canoeing, and tried out some of the outdoor pools<\/a> in Saskatoon. We picked Saskatoon Berries<\/a>, explored the river, picked strawberries at Prairie Pathways<\/a>, went to the Urban Games<\/a>, and celebrated a bear-thday at the Saskatoon Zoo. We also tried to get a couple of skateboarding lessons in with Right to Skate.<\/p>\n

Saskatoon Fringe 2025<\/p><\/div>\n

As always, August was a very busy month. This month, we took time to visit Jasper to show my son the mountains for the very first time. In Saskatoon, we went to the Saskatoon Fringe<\/a>, had some lake days<\/a>, and went to Beaver Creek to feed the chickadees.<\/p>\n

September Northern Lights<\/p><\/div>\n

The start of school doesn’t stop our adventures. We made sure to visit the Saskatchewan Train Museum before they closed for the season. We had a great trip to Moose Jaw<\/a>, stopped by the 33rd Street Fair, went pumpkin picking, watched the Northern Lights, and got back into school activities.<\/p>\n

JJ’s Haunted Car Wash<\/p><\/div>\n

October brought us some beautiful weather and stunning colours. We spent the month immersed in all things Halloween<\/a> and all things fall. We made it out to check out Pumpkins After Dark, and drove through a Haunted House at JJ’s Car Wash.<\/p>\n

Inkferno Opening<\/p><\/div>\n

November started out with some fun activities, and they continued throughout the month. We were so excited to try out Inkferno, and had a blast having a paint fight. The fun continued with more Northern Lights, a walk through the BHP Enchanted Forest, llamas at Dutch Growers, beautiful first snow falls, checking out the Festival of Trees, and the Winter\u2019s Tale IV Light Show Kick-Off Event<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Holiday Dreams<\/p><\/div>\n

And finally, December. A beautiful month filled with Christmas cheer and if you wanted, you could find an event every single weekend. We spent the month going to Christmas Markets, finding Santa sightings and a festive visit to Glow Saskatoon. We also went to Holiday Dreams at TCU and Nitro Circus at SaskTel Centre.<\/p>\n
