Summer already seems so long ago, but I’ve been thinking back on all of the fun we had. There was a point in my summer when I was worried we weren’t doing enough, and I wasn’t giving my son enough summer experiences. I’m sure many parents feel the same way when they have to balance work and adventure. We did more exploring this summer and tried some new things, but of course explored areas we already love.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Although kids are still in school, as soon as the weather starts to warm up, we like to jump into our summer activities. We fit quite a bit in this June.<\/p>\n

The Summer Explored\u00a0Fort Carlton Provincial Park<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

We stepped back in time to the original site of a Hudson\u2019s Bay fur-trading post from the early 1800s. It was fun to take part in the tour and learn about all the different areas. One of the rules was to not touch anything without asking first, and the kids did an amazing job respecting this and were able to touch quite a lot of things in the interactive rooms. We had a tour, and then the kids had time for lunch and to run around a little bit, and then they headed for a walk before the bus left.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Picked Peonies at Black Fox<\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

This one is a June tradition. Flowers in June, July and August! We went to pick early, but can spend any summer days surrounded by flowers at Black Fox<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Explored\u00a0Saskatoon\u2019s Free Little Libraries<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

The fact that my son thinks finding new Free Little Libraries to trade books at is an adventure, makes me very happy. If there’s a day we are bored at home, we’ll grab some books and check out some books.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Saw Saskatoon From Above Nutrien Playland at Kinsmen Park<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

This fusion of urban greenspace with amusement-style attractions offers unique opportunities for everyone in the family to get out and have a blast this summer. There are so many ways to play, and your day will be full of excitement with adventure around every corner.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Discovered\u00a0MM Farm<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

MM Farm opened in 2026 and has animals, games, flowers and more! A visit to MM Farm is fun for the entire family. They\u2019re located near Dundurn.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Summer We Enjoyed the\u00a0Lakes Near Saskatoon<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

We spent as much time in the lake as we could this summer. We swam, we tried new water sports, we splashed, and we hid from the mosquitoes.<\/p>\n

The Summer Explored the\u00a0Saskatchewan Railway Museum<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

We celebrated Canada Day by exploring the Saskatchewan Railway Museum.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Cheered on the\u00a0Monster Trucks All Out<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

There was a pre-show pit party where the kids could get up close to the monster trucks and meet some of the drivers. My son and his friend loved cheering on the trucks.<\/p>\n

The Summer Took Part in the\u00a0Slip\u2019n\u2019Slides Powered by Saskatoon Fire Department<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This was the first time we were able to go to the slip n slides set up at John Lake Park. My son had a blast.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Participated in the Community LEGO\u00ae Build with Saskatoon Public Library<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We left our mark on an art project for the new central library and joined a Community Lego Build. The Where We Grow LEGO\u00ae project is completed, the mosaic will be installed in the brand-new central library. It reflects on themes of learning, growth and connection to place, and was inspired by prairie plants native to Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Played in the Bubbles<\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

My son and I joined a fun marathon. We joined Saskatoon’s Bubble Chase and had a blast playing in the bubbles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Summer We Fringed<\/h3>\n

\"in<\/p>\n

If the Fringe is on, we’ll be there. When the Saskatoon Fringe starts, you can find us there almost every day enjoying the plays, the street performers, and the food!<\/p>\n

The Summer We Explored the Saskatoon Zoo<\/h3>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Butterflies, wolves, zebras and so much more! Exploring the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo is always on our list.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Watched the\u00a0Water Circus Platinum<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"the<\/p>\n

We went to the amazing Water Circus Platinum. We were excited to enter the mystical tent celebrating art and wonder. We\u2019ve been doing a lot of outdoor activities lately, but this was the perfect day to spend inside a solid tent and hide from the wind! We felt safe and happy watching this beautiful and exciting circus.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Fed Chickadees<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We do this every season, but we had to stop by with some friends to feed the chickadees at Beaver Creek.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Went to the\u00a0Europa Super Circus<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Contortionist<\/p>\n

We made it to two completely different circus shows this summer, and loved them both. Europa Super Circus was a blast, and our entire crew loved the experience. We arrived at the first Saturday performance of the day to a friendly atmosphere full of excited families. As soon as the circus started, we knew we were in for a great time.<\/p>\n

The Summer We Explored the Elbow Sand Dunes<\/h3>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

This was our last adventure of our summer. We went on a hike on the Douglas Provincial Park hiking trails, and ended up exploring the sand dunes. This was our first time, and it was SO much fun.<\/p>\n
